Peoria City Councilmember Denette Dunn Celebrates Groundbreaking Of New HonorHealth Facility

Grand opening for Honor Health Hospital in Peoria

Peoria Councilmember Denette Dunn recently joined HonorHealth in celebration of the groundbreaking of a new medical campus in the city.

The new medical campus will offer a range of world-class healthcare services, essentially serving as a one-stop shop for cancer, primary care, and physical therapy in the community. The medical campus will also offer gastroenterology, breast surgery, outpatient surgery, and medical imaging, among other services.

The medical facility will occupy over 100,000 square feet of space on the east side of 83rd Avenue’s Loop 101. Situated between Thunderbird and Bell Roads, it will be easily accessible to Peoria residents as well as patients from the surrounding areas.

The construction of the medical campus is warmly welcomed by Peoria city residents, for whom the development of such a world-class healthcare facility is unprecedented.

Along with Councilmember Dunn, Mayor Jason Beck lauds the project as a “win-win development” for the city. The mayor expressed his appreciation to HonorHealth for bringing high-quality employment to the community and providing close-to-home access to such a wide range of medical care services.

The HonorHealth medical campus is a particularly welcome initiative for Councilmember Dunn, who has long championed the cause for accessible, high-quality services for Peoria City residents. As a council member representing the Pine District, she played an instrumental role in the formation of the Pine Citizens Advisory, which was established to address unique community-related concerns.

The establishment of the committee is only one of Councilmember Dunn’s many efforts to better serve her constituents. Its membership base has expanded considerably over the past few years to now include over a hundred residents and public officials.

HonorHealth’s CEO, Todd LaPorte, is equally gratified about serving the Peoria community. He is especially optimistic about the benefit that patients will derive from having improved access to specialist care and seamless coordination across care providers. Like Councilmember Denette Dunn, he looks forward to the availability of high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Peoria and the surrounding communities.
